Jalandhar | 28–30 September 2026

From 28 to 30 September 2026, techcadd conducted an in-person workshop on artificial intelligence at S.D. College, Jalandhar. The workshop looked at the growing applications of AI in education, technology and business, emerging technology trends, and the skills students need for technology-driven careers.

Topics included AI awareness, digital literacy and critical thinking, continuous skill development, and career pathways in AI, machine learning, data science and software development. techcadd’s head office is in Jalandhar, the same city as the college.

AI awareness beyond engineering

  • Arts and humanitiesTranscription, translation and summarising tools raise questions of authorship, bias and accuracy.
  • Commerce and managementUnderstanding what a forecast or automated report is based on is a core professional skill.
  • ScienceData analysis, simulation and literature search are increasingly AI-assisted.
  • Computer applicationsProgramming, databases and web development, plus small AI-enabled applications.

Digital literacy and critical thinking

Digital literacy means using devices, software and online services confidently and safely. Critical thinking means asking where information comes from and what evidence supports it.

AI tools can produce fluent, confident text that is wrong. Treat an AI answer as a draft to check, not a fact to accept.

Career pathways

  • Software development: programming, testing, version control and teamwork.
  • Data science and analytics: statistics, SQL, Python or R, visualisation and communication.
  • Machine learning: models built on mathematics, statistics and programming.
  • AI-using roles: analysts, marketers, teachers, designers and administrators who use AI responsibly.

A twelve-week plan after an AI workshop

  • Weeks one to three: digital literacy and basic spreadsheet analysis.
  • Weeks four to six: the basics of Python or SQL.
  • Weeks seven to nine: clean a public dataset and make a few charts.
  • Weeks ten to twelve: one small project with a write-up and feedback.

Using AI tools honestly

Follow your college’s policy on AI, record how you used a tool, verify claims and be clear about what you produced yourself.
